”It is worth noting that this tragic incident is not the first of its kind along the University segment of the Damaturu–Biu road. Barely three months ago, a similar accident occurred in the same area, and sadly, such accidents are recorded on this road segment almost every year.
In light of this, we strongly call on the relevant authorities to urgently construct speed breakers (bumps) along the University segment of the Damaturu–Biu road, from the first gate to the last gate. This will help control over-speeding, reduce the frequency of such unfortunate accidents, and safeguard the lives of our students and other road users,” he said.
As at the time of this report, the injured victims are receiving medical attention, while while arrangements are being made for the burial of the deceased according to Islamic rites.
We pray that Allah (SWT) forgives her shortcomings, grants her Al-Jannatul Firdaus, and comforts her family. We also pray for the quick recovery of the injured persons.
May Allah (SWT) protect our students from calamities and grant them success in their studies.
