Why Arab leaders are withholding support for Palestine – Middle East analyst, Ramzy
Story by Ayuba Ahmad
Leader of the Palestinian community in Nigeria and Middle East analyst, Abu Ibrahim Ramzy, has accused leaders of Arab nations of reluctance to support the Palestinians and speak up against the ongoing genocide due to their fear of the repercussion from Israel and the United States of America, pointing out that most of them will be ousted from their positions of power if they turn against the interest and bidings of Telaviv and Washington.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with journalists during a courtesy visit to Neptune Prime on Monday at the head office of the media organisation in Abuja, Mr Ramzy said “majority of the so-called Arab leaders are no more than poppets maintained and controlled by Israel and allies and most therefore promote the interest of Zionism and empirialism to the detriment of their people and fellow Arabs outside their countries.
The Palestinian leader lamented the pathetic situation whereby the population of about 2 billion Muslims in the world appear too powerless to challenge the ongoing atrocities in Palestine and particularly the genocide being carried out by Israel in Gaza since October 2023.
While commending the heroic actions of Iran and Yemen in standing up to the zionist state, Mr Ibrahim condemned the hypocrisy of the so-called Arab countries who pretend to be supporting Palestine but are actually advancing the cause and interest of Israel.

Specifically, he accused Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi of double standard given his hostile postures towards Palestinian refugees in his country and obstructing the free flow of aid-carrying trucks through the Egyptian border into Gaza.
Mr Ramzy commended Nigeria, Ghana and other African countries for supporting Palestine at such a critical time in the history of their struggle against the occupation, massacre and ruination of their ancestral land.
While appealing for increased and sustained efforts from African countries, Mr Ibrahim applauded the courageous and outstanding support of South Africa which he said “was obviously due to the country’s bitter experiences during the apartheid era as well as the decades of support given by Palestine through the Palestinian Liberation Organisation, PLO”.
