We don’t want Venezuelan prisoners in Nigeria – Shehu Sani
Shehu Sani, former Senator who represented the Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the previous Assembly, has vehemently rejected the move by the United States to impose Venezuelan deportees on Nigeria.
the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, on Thursday disclosed that the US has been mounting pressure on Nigeria and other African countries to accept Venezuelan deportees.

Speaking while featuring on Channels Television’s Politics Today, the minister disclosed that Nigeria may not be able to accept the prisoners.
Reacting, Shehu Sani, in a post on his official X handle, said the Nigerian government must not create space for the prisoners either now or in the future.

According to him, the US is free to send Nigerian prisoners in the country back home, but not Venezuelan nationals.
He wrote, “If the US wants to send Nigerian prisoners in US Jails back to Nigeria, that is ok and should be accepted.
“We don’t want Venezuelan prisoners in our country and there should be no space for them now or in the future”.
