Veteran journalist, Godwin Akor, pleads for financial help to fight urinary disease

Godwin Akor, a veteran journalist, who served as the Yobe State correspondent for Daily Times between 1996 and 1999, has immensely contributed to the growth of journalism in Nigeria by playing active roles in shaping public understanding, seeking truth and reporting it responsibly.

Sadly, 67-year-old Akor has been down with spinal spondylosis (Cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine degeneration), and prostate enlargement, a urinary disease that needs urgent medical procedures.

At present, he cannot walk; a catheter
which is fixed through the bladder cannot
go through his genitals.

He is passionately seeking financial assistance in this difficult time to raise the
amount needed for surgery and other medical expenses.

In addition to his ongoing treatment, Mr Akor is scheduled to undergo a prostate surgery which will cost him 1.3million Naira.
