Tinubu’s administration a ‘disastrous catastrophe,’ worse than Buhari’s – Adamu Waziri
Alhaji Adamu Maina Waziri, former Minister of Police Affairs and a key figure in the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has claimed that the administration of President Bola Tinubu is a complete disaster, underperforming even when compared to the highly criticised government of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Speaking on Trust Television, Waziri expressed serious concern over the state of governance in Nigeria, warning that the country is dangerously sliding into deeper crises under Tinubu’s leadership.
“If the Buhari government was a failure, the Tinubu government in the last two years is a disastrous catastrophe,” he stated. “It has failed in all ramifications, and the country has regressed.”

The former minister pointed to rising insecurity, a worsening economy, and increased corruption as key indicators of the current administration’s failure. “The economy is collapsing, ethnocentrism is at an all-time high, and insecurity continues to ravage many states,” he added.
According to Waziri, under Tinubu’s leadership, Nigeria has not only lost its national direction but has also become more fragile and polarised. He expressed confusion and concern about those who endorse the Tinubu government, especially those from areas directly affected by banditry and violence.
“I am surprised that people whose local governments are under the control of bandits can appear on national television to endorse this government,” he said.
Waziri urged for a serious evaluation of the administration’s performance, calling on Nigerians to look beyond media appearances and staged endorsements. He concluded that a government that has overseen a national decline in all sectors cannot credibly seek re-election.
