THE CONCLAVE publisher’s daughter, Sharon Ojeifo, emerges best graduating nursing student at Bingham University

Miss Sharon Toluwani Ojeifo, 21-year-old daughter of the publisher and editor-in-chief of THE CONCLAVE online newspaper, Mr Sufuyan Ojeifo, has emerged the best graduating student from the Department of Nursing and Midwifery at Bingham University, Karu, Nasarawa State,

Bingham University, Karu, on Wednesday, graduated 89 nurses (the 3rd set) during a ceremony at Architecture Hall of the University.

The graduands were inducted and presented to the Registrar of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN), Dr Alhassan Ndagu, for the obligatory administration of oath.

Amidst resounding approbation by her colleagues and those present at the solemn event, petite Sharon stepped out and gingerly approached the dais to receive her award: a plaque on which the school, department, award category and the recipient’s name and academic session were described and inscribed.

Apart from graduating magna cum laude, Sharon was also one of the 35 out of the 89 graduands that had passed the requisite professional examinations to become Registered Nurse (rn), Registered Midwife (rm) and Registered Public Health Nurse (rphn) at the 300 and 400 level intersections of their five-year nursing programme in the university.

The Bachelor of Nursing Science (bnsc) degree was the crown capping of their academic pursuit at the institution.

While administering the oath on the graduates, the Registrar of the NMCN, Dr Ndagi, warned the inductees against unethical conduct.

He said that the council would not hesitate to sanction any member who failed to adhere to the ethics of the noble profession.

Present during the occasion were the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Haruna Ayuba; Provost of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, University Chaplain, Rev (Dr) Joseph Dyaji, and Dean of Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Prof D.D.D. Sheni.

Others are Registrar of the University, Mr Misal Daburi and Acting Head of Department of Nursing, Nur. Barry Afoi.
