Security forces nab 2 kidnapping suspects, seize AK-47

Security forces in Taraba State, working with the state’s Hunters Association, have successfully arrested two suspected kidnappers and recovered an AK-47 rifle.
The arrests were made on Tuesday at the Mahadi Forest in the Gassol Local Government Area after authorities received a tip-off. The suspects were identified as Yahaya Umar, 20, from Gamu village, and Mohammed Umar, 37, from Belango village.

According to sources, the suspects confessed to being part of a kidnapping group that has been terrorising communities in Plateau and Taraba states along the Wase–Karim Lamido–Old Muri axis.
“Investigation is ongoing, and efforts are underway to track down other fleeing members of the syndicate,” the sources said.
