Scores of terrorists killed as NAF bombs Boko Haram camps

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has conducted precision air strikes on Boko Haram hideouts in Borno’s Mandara Mountains, killing scores of fighters and disrupting their logistics network.

In a statement on Monday, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, said the operation, conducted on July 6 under Operation Hadin Kai, targeted key strongholds of the Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad (JAS) faction of Boko Haram.

He said the targets, Wa Jahode and Loghpere, have long served as fortified enclaves for insurgents, located in rugged terrain along Nigeria’s border with Cameroon.

Ejodame said intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions had confirmed increased terrorist activity in the area, including logistics build-ups and the presence of senior JAS commanders.

His words: “Clusters of structures fitted with solar panels, black flags, and fortified compounds were observed, indicating preparations for coordinated attacks.

“In response, NAF strike aircraft executed a series of well-coordinated air interdictions, targeting and destroying high-value terrorist infrastructure including logistics warehouses, command centres, and defensive shelters.”

The Air Force said the operation disrupted the terrorists’ supply chain and degraded their operational capabilities.

He said the Air Force remains committed to sustaining the ongoing onslaught against insurgents and restoring peace to all troubled regions across the country.
