Prominent Islamic cleric, Dr. Idris Abdul’aziz Dutsen Tanshi, dies
A renowned Islamic cleric, Dr Idris Abdulaziz, has died after battling with undisclosed illness.
The official Facebook page of his mosque, Dutsen Tanshi Majlis Bauchi, confirmed his death, announcing that his funeral would take place at Games Village Eid Ground, Bauchi at 10:00am on Friday.
In his will, the late preacher banned taking photograph at his funeral, canceled memorial gathering at his home, disallowed people from jostling for his corpse as well as entering the cemetery with shoes.

The late scholar was enmeshed in many controversies as well as discord with successive administrations in Bauchi State, traditional rulers, police, fellow Izala and Tariqa clerics.
He obtained a degree in Islamic Law at Islamic University of Madinah and PhD in Islamic Jurisprudence in Sudan.
In a condolence message, a former minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, prayed for the repose of his soul in Jannatul Fiddausi.
