Pope Francis injured in second fall at Vatican
Pope Francis has experienced his second fall in two months, resulting in a bruise on his forearm, as confirmed by the Vatican on Thursday.
The 88-year-old pontiff was seen wearing a sling following the incident, which took place at the Santa Marta residence in the Vatican.
The Vatican press office reported that while His Holiness fell and sustained a contusion on his right forearm, he fortunately did not suffer any fractures. As a precaution, his arm was immobilised.

This recent fall follows a previous incident in December when the Pope was spotted with a significant bruise on his right jaw, caused by a tumble from his bed.
Since assuming leadership of the Catholic Church in 2013, Pope Francis has faced various health challenges, including knee and hip pain, as well as several bouts of bronchitis. He has been using a wheelchair since 2022.
Despite his health concerns, the Pope remains actively engaged in his duties and recently completed an extensive four-nation trip in September, marking the longest journey of his papacy in terms of both duration and distance.
