The Borno State Police Command on Monday recovered an unexploded ordnance (UXO) from a farmland in Dikwa Local Government Area of the state.
Police spokesperson ASP Nahum Daso said the recovery followed a report from a farmer, Babagana Kachalla, who noticed a suspicious object on his land.
Acting on the report, the Commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Abdulmajid, deployed the Commander of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Base 13, Maiduguri, and his team to the location.
According to Daso, the officers cordoned off the area per EOD-CBRN protocols before identifying the object.

“The operation was carried out successfully without incident.
“Community members were sensitised on Explosive Ordnance Risk Awareness (EORA) to enhance their knowledge on safety precautions when such dangerous objects are discovered.”
The command urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious objects or movements to the police emergency contact via 0806 807 5581, 0802 347 3293 for rapid response.
