The Osun State Police Command is investigating the sudden death of Bidemi Omole, a young woman who collapsed at her boyfriend’s house in Esa-Oke.
Community sources say Bidemi, who had no known health issues, was visiting her boyfriend, Yinka, on Friday evening. Around 9:30 p.m., she suddenly became ill. “We heard cries for help and ran to Yinka’s house. By the time we arrived, a large crowd had gathered.
People were visibly shaken,” a resident who wished to remain anonymous said. Bidemi had reportedly planned to attend a vigil later that night.

The police have since taken Yinka into custody. According to Police Public Relations Officer Abiodun Ojelabi, preliminary reports suggest Bidemi started vomiting shortly after she arrived at the house. She was rushed to a hospital but died on the way.
“The suspect, her boyfriend, is in custody, and an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death,” Ojelabi stated. The investigation is still ongoing.
