Police arrest Pastor, suspect in separate rape, murder cases

The Imo State Police Command has arrested Pastor Ikenna Emmanuel, 32, and Franklin Chizoba on charges of allegedly raping a 20-year-old woman in Orlu.
According to police spokesperson DSP Henry Okoye, Emmanuel, who leads the Authentic Power City Church in Umuobom, Ideato-South LGA, lured the victim to his house with the promise of prayers.
The woman was allegedly given a drink, which made her dizzy, after which the suspects reportedly assaulted her.
Both men were arrested by operatives from the Orlu Divisional Headquarters and are said to have confessed to the crime, along with engaging in homosexual acts.

They have been charged to court and are currently remanded at the Correctional Facility in Owerri awaiting trial.
In an unrelated incident, the Orlu Police Division has also arrested 39-year-old Ifeanyi Odinka of Amaifeke, Orlu, for the alleged murder of his 75-year-old father, Denis Odinka. The police state that the dispute stemmed from proceeds from a land sale, during which the son allegedly stabbed his father to death.

The suspect reportedly confessed to the crime during interrogation and has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Owerri for further investigation and prosecution.
