Police arrest 50-year-old man for murdering woman over rejected marriage proposal
A 50-year-old woman, Atayi Abdul, was allegedly murdered by Yayu Musa in Olla Community, Kogi State, on July 25 around 8:00 p.m. Musa reportedly lured Abdul to her farm under false pretenses, claiming thieves were stealing palm fruits, and then attacked her with a knife.
The Kogi State Police Command swiftly responded to the incident, securing the crime scene, collecting evidence, and arresting Musa.
According to a source close to the family, Lawal Abdulazeez Muhammed, the motive behind the attack may have been a personal grudge stemming from Musa’s anger over Abdul’s refusal to allow him marry her daughter.
