Police arrest 25-year-old man with severed human breast
A 25-year-old man identified as Samuel Eze has been arrested by the Anambra State Police Command for being in possession of a severed human breast.
The arrest was made on Saturday, July 6, 2025, by a joint security team comprising police officers attached to the Awada Police Station and local vigilantes while on routine patrol along Jude Onyekwere Street in Awada, Obosi.
According to a statement released by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the body part was immediately recovered from the suspect and has been deposited at the morgue for preservation. Ikenga confirmed that Eze is currently undergoing interrogation as part of ongoing investigations and will face prosecution.
In a separate operation, officers of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Anambra State Police Command rescued a kidnapped truck driver and recovered goods worth ₦9.5 million. The rescue took place around 12:45 p.m. on July 4, 2025, following actionable intelligence. The truck, which was loaded with custard powder, had been diverted from its intended delivery route to a warehouse in Asaba, Delta State.

Three male suspects — Udegenyi Ugochukwu (38), Anayochukwu Okonkwo (47), and Good Odigili (47) — were arrested in connection with the abduction. Police reports indicate the men allegedly tied up the driver in a bush before rerouting the truck to Enugwu Ukwu in Anambra State. The driver was rescued unharmed, and the truck and goods were recovered.
Additionally, the Command announced the recovery of a suspected stolen and abandoned Toyota Sienna vehicle. The custom-coloured car, bearing registration number 736 JP and marked with the inscription “Forum of Accountants Delta State,” was found by operatives from the Obosi Division at about 4:30 p.m. on July 5, 2025, during a patrol along the Okpuno–Umuota village road in Obosi.
Police have called on anyone or any organization seeking to claim the recovered vehicle to present valid proof of ownership for verification and possible release.
The Anambra State Police Command reiterated its commitment to maintaining security in the state, noting that joint surveillance and patrols involving the Police, Military, Civil Defence, Immigration, DSS, and Anambra Vigilante Group (AVG) are ongoing across various communities.
