Police arraign man over alleged ₦1.4m land fraud
The police on Thursday arraigned one Rafiu Ademola (39) before an Iyaganku Magistrate Court, Ibadan, over alleged ₦1.4 million land fraud.
Ademola, whose address was not provided, was facing a two-count charge of obtaining money under false pretences and stealing, to which he pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Insp Opeyemi Olagunju, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on February 20 at Ojoo Area of Ibadan.
Olagunju said that the defendant collected ₦1.4 million from the complainant, one Azeez Odunayo, on the pretext of selling him two plots of land but failed to do so.

He said the defendant converted the money to his personal use.
The Magistrate, Mrs Gladys Oladele, granted the defendant bail in the sum of ₦200,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case until August 8, for hearing. (NAN)
