Over-speeding vehicle knocks popular lawyer to death
An over-speeding vehicle on Friday evening knocked down and killed a popular lawyer, Mr. Paul O. Onota, Esq.
The incident occurred close to the Udu Local Government Council Secretariat at about 3:58 p.m on Friday.
The lawyer, who was a member of the Udu branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), was crossing the road when the vehicle crushed him, leaving his body mangled.
At the moment, members of the Udu branch of the NBA are in a state of mourning.
The Udu branch NBA Publicity Secretary, Okakuro Akpokona Omafuaire, Esq., said, “It’s shocking and saddening. This is not the kind of news we were expecting to hear. This is a man who was so gentle.”

According to him, “Having gone to court and returned just yesterday, this is something we cannot accept. The driver who killed him should be held responsible for his crime.”
The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, is yet to respond to calls or a text message sent to him for confirmation of this report.
