Okpebholo suspends Edo AG, LG Commission Chairman
Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has suspended the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Samson Osagie, as well as the Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, Damian Lawani.
The suspension was announced by the Secretary to the State Government, Musa Ikhilor, in a statement released on Thursday.
The two officials were suspended due to allegations of serious official and financial misconduct, with the suspension taking effect immediately. The governor has also set up an Investigative Committee to probe the allegations and provide appropriate recommendations.
The suspension aims to allow for a thorough investigation into the financial infractions that have been leveled against both Osagie and Lawani.
The suspension will remain in place until the investigation is completed. This decision comes less than three months after their appointments.
