NSCDC officer allegedly shot dead by colleague
Story by Susan Mbamah
An official of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), DSP Adama Adekunle Emmanuel, has been reportedly shot and killed by a colleague at a hotel in the Life Camp area of Abuja.
The deceased’s widow, Mrs. Titilayo Adams, suspects foul play, alleging that the official accounts are an attempt to “cover up what actually occurred.”
Mrs. Adams told a reporter that her husband, who was attached to a politician, left home on August 31st and was expected back the same day.

The family was only informed of his death by a colleague who claimed her husband had “mistakenly shot himself multiple times.”
However, the family has since received three conflicting reports: that the shooting was an accidental discharge, a “friendly fire” incident involving a colleague, or a ricochet from a bullet shot into the air.
The widow also expressed frustration that her husband’s body was deposited at Maitama General Hospital without the family’s consent and that NSCDC authorities have yet to officially contact them. She is now appealing for justice and financial support, as her husband left behind two children and she is unemployed.

At the time of this report, both the NSCDC FCT Command spokesperson and the FCT Police Command PRO were unreachable for comment.
