Napoli president receives death threats over Victor Osimhen’s transfer

Napoli president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, and his son, Edo De Laurentiis, have reportedly received death threats from an alleged Galatasaray fan over the club’s handling of Victor Osimhen’s transfer negotiations.

According to Football Italia, a WhatsApp message sent to Edo De Laurentiis by an individual claiming to be part of the Turkish Mafia warned: “Let Osimhen go or you are finished.”

The message, made public by Turkish journalist Samet Çay?r, included chilling threats directed at both father and son, pressuring them to approve Osimhen’s permanent move to Galatasaray.

The Nigerian striker spent last season on loan at Galatasaray and was a revelation, delivering 45 goal contributions in 41 games, including 37 goals and eight assists. His stellar form has prompted the Turkish champions to push hard for a permanent deal.

However, negotiations between Napoli and Galatasaray have reached a stalemate. Napoli are demanding the full €75 million release clause, with at least €50 million paid upfront, while Galatasaray have proposed a payment structure of €40 million initially and €35 million by 2027, also rejecting Napoli’s request for a resale clause.

The threats come amid this transfer drama, with Napoli reportedly unwilling to compromise on their terms. Despite Osimhen’s desire to stay in Istanbul, the Serie A club remains firm, stating the striker has no future in Naples but must leave on their financial terms.
