NAF airstrikes kill dozens of insurgents in Borno
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says precision airstrikes by the Air Component of Operation Haɗin Kai (OPHK) have eliminated scores of terrorists and destroyed one of their strongholds in Borno State.
Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF, confirmed the operation in a statement issued Thursday in Abuja.
He said the strikes were carried out on Wednesday morning at about 10:50 a.m. in Bula Madibale, Gezuwa general area of the state.

According to Ejodame, intelligence and surveillance had earlier revealed unusual movements in the location, with about 45 terrorists spotted gathering. Some of them were seen arriving on motorcycles and bicycles from multiple directions.
Reconnaissance also identified two terrorist flags raised at the site, confirming its use as a rallying point and base of operations for insurgents.
“Acting on this credible intelligence, the Air Component launched precision strikes, eliminating several terrorists, while the flagged structure and other hostile assets were destroyed,” Ejodame said.

He added that the airstrikes denied the terrorists freedom to regroup, reinforce, or stage attacks on nearby communities in the North East.
Ejodame reassured Nigerians that the Armed Forces remained committed to restoring peace and stability across the troubled region.
