Madakin Gudi medical team checks up on Almajiri boy after surgery

A team of officials from the Madakin Gudi Foundation, led by Malam Hassan Kaku, revisited General Hospital Gashua to check the health condition of an Almajiri boy after undergoing surgery.

During the visit, the team confirmed that the patient’s health is significantly improving.

A relative of Hamza, Malam Sadiq Mohammed, who is with him at the hospital appreciated the effort of Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni and Madakin Gudi Foundation for coming up with this initiative and support.

Malam Sadiq Mohammed recounted that if not because of the intervention rendered to Hamza by the Yobe State Government and Madakin Gudi Foundation, his health might have been in a very bad state by now.

It could be recalled that the life of an abandoned Almajiri boy named Hamza was saved by a team of medical experts while on an outreach mission to the Yusufari Local Government area in Yobe State.

Hamza, a fourteen-year-old Almajiri pupil of Tsangayar Malam Ilu in Yusufari Community was in critical health condition as a result of Typhoid Perforation.

The sickness nearly killed the boy when he was brought to Yusufari General Hospital by a good Samaritan Malam Nuhu Musa.

Fortunately, Hamza was brought to the hospital on a day the medical team, mobilised by Madakin Gudi Foundation was doing a free medical outreach in Yusufari which is part of the state-wide free treatment exercise.

Immediately after seeing Hamza, the lead doctor, MK Abdullahi diagnosed him and rectified the problem after which the doctor referred the boy to the Specialist Hospital in Gashua.

Hamza was brought to the hospital and taken in for surgery which was successful and he is recovering well.
