Iran’s Supreme Leader rejects obedience to US and Israel, warns of plots to sow division

Story by Jessica Mbamah

Speaking on Sunday, Ali Khamenei said the hostility of the United States toward Iran is not new but has remained constant for nearly half a century, regardless of who occupies the White House.

“For 45 years, US governments, through various individuals, groups, and parties that have come to power, have maintained the same hostility, the same sanctions, and the same threats toward the Islamic Republic and the dear nation of Iran,” he declared.

In the past, he explained, Washington concealed its real motives behind slogans of terrorism, human rights, or democracy. But today, the truth has been openly revealed. “The current US leader has clarified the true objective. He said, ‘Our confrontation with Iran, with the Iranian nation, is so that Iran becomes obedient to the United States.’”

Khamenei warned that since the enemy has now realized it cannot defeat Iran through war, it has turned instead to plots aimed at creating division inside the country.

He cautioned against internal agents, Zionist influence, and careless voices that may fuel discord, while praising the Iranian people for maintaining unity despite political or social differences.

The Leader underlined the necessity of preserving cohesion among all segments of society, between the people and the administration, among officials themselves, and between the nation and the Armed Forces, stressing that the enemy’s greatest effort today is focused on undermining this unity.

Turning to the war in Gaza, the Leader described the Zionist regime as “the most hated regime in the world, the most despised government,” noting that even Western states now condemn its conduct. But, he stressed, words are meaningless in the face of what he called crimes unprecedented in modern history: “Killing children through hunger and thirst, letting them starve, is unparalleled. Children who come seeking food are being shot at. To the best of my knowledge, such a thing has never occurred in history.”

He called for all aid channels to Israel to be severed, praised Yemen’s resistance as the correct path, and prayed, “God willing, may He bless the movement of the Iranian nation and the advocates of justice worldwide and eradicate this deep, malignant cancer from the region.”
