The project, named Shahid Soleimani, aims to boost the nation’s narrowband communications with a network of around 20 satellites.
According to the plan, the satellites will be deployed in low Earth orbit (LEO).

The first experimental models are set to launch in late 2025, with the main group to follow in 2026.
This initiative is the latest step in Iran’s expanding space program, which has recently seen notable successes despite Western sanctions.
