Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has launched the distribution of the 2025 Agricultural Empowerment Programme for Yobe farmers.

Represented during the launching ceremony by the Senior Special Assistant to President Ahmed Bola Tinubu on political matters, Alhaji Ibrahim Masari, Governor Buni said the initiative aimed to support farmers across all the 17 Local Government Areas (LGAs).

The empowerment underscored the state government’s commitment to transforming agriculture from subsistence farming to mechanised production.

Buni emphasised that the programme aligns with his administration’s broader agenda to improve productivity, ensure food sufficiency, and strengthen the local economy.

Others are 4,500 biogas plants, 20,000 assorted improved seeds, 4,000 bunches of cassava stems, 50 tricycles and 30 motorcycles for mobility and logistics,” Buni revealed.

He announced that all farm machinery and equipment will be given to farmers free of charge, while fertilisers will be sold at a 50% subsidy.
