Ghana donates 40 tonnes of cocoa products as humanitarian aid to Palestine

Ghana has donated 40 tonnes of cocoa-based products to the people of Palestine as an expression of solidarity and humanitarian support amid ongoing severe food blockades in Gaza by the Israeli Zionist regime.

Cocoa is one of Ghana’s most important agricultural products, vital to the national economy and the livelihood of millions. With this donation, Ghana is making a strong effort to align with the global wave of solidarity and humanitarian assistance for the oppressed people of Gaza, who are enduring severe food blockades, constant bombardment, and genocide by the Israeli regime.

As the situation in Gaza worsens under nearly two years of relentless Israeli attacks and medical and food blockades, public outrage is growing worldwide. People across the globe are protesting not only the Israeli regime’s genocide but also the silence of Western governments and the inaction of international institutions — demanding urgent humanitarian aid and accountability.

President John Dramani Mahama: “This is not just a gift of cocoa; it is a gift of compassion.”
“Ghana stands with the people of Palestine during these difficult times,” he added.

The aid is intended for displaced families, health centers, and schools in Gaza and the West Bank.
The donation was coordinated by Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, COCOBOD, and the Cocoa Marketing Company.
The products were selected from the Golden Tree brand for their quality and nutritional value.
