Final-year student stabbed during dispute with colleague

A final-year student at Wa T.I Ahmadiyya Senior High School in Ghana’s Upper West Region is in critical condition after being stabbed during a confrontation with a classmate on Tuesday night.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred after Idrisu Ibrahim, known as Lincoln, a General Agricultural Science student, recorded a video of his friend Hafis, a General Arts student, without his consent.

Hafis confronted Lincoln, demanding that he delete the video. When Lincoln refused, Hafis allegedly threatened to stab him. Witnesses said Lincoln dismissed the threat, challenging Hafis to act on it. The situation escalated when Hafis pulled a knife and stabbed Lincoln in the ribs and stomach.

After the attack, Hafis attempted to flee, but news of the incident spread quickly across campus. Some students reportedly mobilised for retaliation, but police arrived promptly to restore order. Hafis was arrested and taken into custody for questioning.

Despite severe injuries, Lincoln managed to stagger from the hostel area towards the school library before collapsing.

A female student who witnessed the incident described the scene: “When Lincoln came out, the knife was still stuck in him. Some students removed it before rushing him to the hospital.”

Lincoln is currently receiving treatment at the Wa Regional Hospital, where his condition is described as critical but stable.

Police investigations are ongoing, and school authorities have increased security presence on campus to prevent further disturbances.
