Emir of Bauchi turbans 9th Alkaleri Monarch

The Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu, has appointed and turbaned retired Comptroller of Custom Alhaji Bala Muhammad Gidado, as the 9th Alkaleri Monarch, succeeding his late uncle Alhaji Mohammed Abdulkadir, who passed away a few months ago.
New Monarch Gidado was turbaned with a grand display of tradition and special prayers, for peace stability and for him to succeed in his reign.
Speaking before the turbaning ceremony of the new monarch, the Emir of Bauchi, Rilwanu, advised the new Gidado to use his experience to further the development of the area, the State and the country at large.
He said Bala was appointed as the new Alkaleri monarch on merit, due to his knowledge, experience, and integrity apart from coming from the royal family.
The Emir commended the new Alkaleri monarch for his exemplary character and advised him to continue with his well-known qualities of honesty, justice, and integrity, and prayed that God will increase peace and stability in the state.
He advised the new monarch to uphold the values of tolerance, mutual understanding, and fairness in his leadership. Emir Rilwanu said that these virtues are vital for peace and progress within the emirate.

He also commended the state Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad, for the cordial relationship existing between his government and the traditional institutions in the state, and expressed their gratitude for the developmental projects executed in all nooks and crannies of the state and maintainance of peace and security.
Speaking on behalf of his family and friends, the Chairman of Alkaleri Local Government Area Council, Garba Hassan Bajama, expressed gratitude for the confirmation of the title by the Emir to Alh Bala Muhammad, saying that the local government would join hands with the Emirs in ensuring peace and stability in the region.
A large crowd gathered at the palace of the Emir of Bauchi for the coronation of the historic new Alkaleri monarch.
On his turbaning, the new monarch ascended the throne as the 9th Alkaleri monarch following the demise of the late monarch of Alkaleri, Alhaji Muhammad Abdulkadir.
Senior government officials, politicians, traditional rulers and stakeholders attended the ceremony, showing the relevance of the event. The presence of these dignitaries highlighted the importance of the new monarch of Alkaleri in the traditional system of the Bauchi State.
After he was turbaned at the Emir of Bauchi’s palace, following the formal rites, the new Alkaleri monarch was accompanied in a majestic procession to his palace in Alkaleri Town, about 60 km away from Bauchi, the State capital.

The new monarch’s family and friends accompanied him amidst pomp and pageantry. Despite rainfalls, the large crowd defied the weather’s extremity and welcomed the new monarch with joy and happiness.
The monarch left his vehicle and rode back to his palace on his horse. Amidst the downpour, a colourful Durbar procession was held in honour of the new monarch. He was then presented with a sword, stick and a copy of the holy Qur’an.
The colourful ceremony in Alkaleri drew dignitaries, traditional title holders, and jubilant subjects from far and near. The new monarch also received greetings and pledges of loyalty from title holders, community leaders, his subjects and other traditional leaders from across his domain.
Among his siblings included retired Comptroller of custom Mahmud Malami Gidado, Lamarin Gidado, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor of Bauchi State, Comrade Muktar Muhammad Giɗaɗo, and Kabiru Gidado. Other important dignitaries include Deputy Commissioner of Plateau State Police, Shehu Adamu.
Similarly, the people of Gwaram Community in Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State have expressed profound appreciation to His Royal Highness the Emir of Bauchi, Dr. Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu, for the recent appointments of Alhaji Bala Mohammed Gidado (Rtd Comptroller of Customs) as the 9th Alkaleri monarch, and Ambassador Yakubu Santuraki Sulaiman Adamu as the new District Head of Pali, both in Alkaleri Local Government.
In a statement signed by Barrister Muslim Maigari, the Dallatun Gwaram, the community described the appointments as a well-considered decision that reflects the Emir’s commitment to providing the people with progressive, visionary and capable traditional leaders, especially at this critical moment in the nation’s history.

According to the statement, the wealth of knowledge, leadership acumen, and decades of sterling professional careers of the newly appointed District Heads will be invaluable in helping to address pressing challenges within their domains.
The community expressed confidence that their track records of service, integrity, and dedication to the public good will contribute significantly to supporting the government’s efforts in tackling security concerns, promoting socio-economic development, and enhancing the welfare of the people.
“We are deeply grateful to our revered Emir for his foresight in giving our communities the leaders whose experience and wisdom will no doubt foster unity, peace, and progress. This is a timely step towards building stronger traditional institutions that can complement government initiatives,” the statement began.
The Gwaram community also offered prayers to Almighty Allah to grant the new District Heads guidance, wisdom, and strength in the discharge of their responsibilities. They urged the people of Alkaleri and Pali to rally behind their new leaders with full cooperation and unwavering support, to ensure that their tenure brings positive transformation to all.
“Leadership is most effective when it is supported by the people. We therefore call on all sons and daughters of our great communities to work hand in hand with our new District Heads, respecting their authority and contributing to the peace and development of our land,” the statement concluded.
