Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) conducted a raid on the Green Legacy Hotel, situated within the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta, Ogun State, arresting several youths suspected of internet fraud.
The operation took place in the early hours of Sunday, August 10, 2025, during a pool party at the hotel premises.
The raid follows a similar operation by the EFCC’s Ibadan Zonal Directorate just five days earlier, on August 5, 2025, when 55 suspected internet fraudsters were apprehended at K-Hotel in Itori, Ewekoro, Ogun State.

One of the suspects in that raid was found with two locally-made pistols, according to the anti-graft agency.
The EFCC has not released further details on the number of arrests or specific charges related to the Green Legacy Hotel operation but confirmed the suspects were taken into custody for investigation.
The agency reiterated its commitment to combating cybercrime across Nigeria, with ongoing efforts to clamp down on suspected fraudsters.
