Daycare operator arrested as dog kills 2-year-old boy
A woman in Georgia has been arrested following a horrific incident where two Rottweilers fatally attacked a 2-year-old boy, Kaimir Jones, while the woman was reportedly asleep for hours.
Police confirmed that Kaimir was found dead in the backyard of 48-year-old Stacy Wheeler Cobb’s home around 3:45 PM on Saturday, October 5. The Valdosta Police Department released the details on Monday.

Investigators believe Kaimir was able to get out of the house while Cobb was taking a long nap and managed to unlock the kennel where the Rottweilers were kept.
According to police, Kaimir’s mother had left him with Cobb, and he was the only child present on the day of the incident. Officials also revealed that Cobb frequently cared for up to 10 children at a time, despite her daycare allegedly being unlicensed.
Cobb told officers she “thought the child was well” while she napped for more than two hours.

Valdosta Police Chief Leslie Manahan expressed deep sympathy for the victim’s family, stating, “This is a horrible and tragic event that should have never occurred, but because of negligence on this offender’s behalf, a mother has tragically lost a child. I want to express our department’s deepest sympathy to the family.”
Chief Manahan added, “No words will ever ease their pain, but our hearts go out to them during this unimaginably difficult time. I also keep our first responders in my prayers, as they continue processing their response to this tragic scene.”
Kaimir’s mother, Adrianna Jones, shared on GoFundMe that her “intuition” prompted her to leave work early and check on her son after not hearing from Cobb. She wrote: “This was a heartbreaking, devastating, and traumatising scene that I wouldn’t wish on anyone. I found my baby like this,” adding that Cobb had been “highly recommended.”

Cobb now faces serious charges, including second-degree murder and cruelty to children. The two Rottweilers, along with a third dog, were handed over to Lowndes County Animal Control.

A viral video posted on X (formerly Twitter) by user #itzbasito showed the guard’s lifeless body on the ground as the Boerboel dogs moved around him. The post claimed the dogs were let loose unknowingly by their owner on Monday night, leading to the fatal attack.
