Cyber Fraudsters Sentenced: Police convict 21 foreign nationals after major raid
The Nigeria Police Force has successfully secured the conviction of 21 foreign nationals involved in a large-scale internet fraud syndicate. This outcome follows a significant raid in Abuja in November 2024 that targeted major cybercrime operations.
According to Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the convictions stem from an operation on November 3, 2024. Acting on credible intelligence, police raided a building in Jahi, Abuja, arresting 130 suspects.
The operation was aimed at combating large-scale internet fraud, hacking, and other cyber offenses that posed a threat to Nigeria’s national security and economic stability.
The raid led to the arrest of 113 foreign nationals, primarily from China and Malaysia, along with 17 Nigerian accomplices.

“The convictions send a strong warning to local and international cybercriminal networks that Nigeria will not be a safe haven for criminal activities.”
The police also reaffirmed their dedication to using advanced technology, fostering international partnerships, and conducting thorough investigations to dismantle organized cybercrime rings. They have promised to provide more updates as the trials continue.
