Criminals gun down Gombe resident weeks after pastor’s murder
The Gombe State Police Command has confirmed the killing of a yet-to-be-identified individual at Mai Unguwan, Sayyadi Lano, Yamaltu-Deba Local Government Area of the state.
According to reports, the unfortunate incident is coming three weeks since the Lubo community mourned the murder of the presiding pastor of Evangelical Church Winning All, Bala Galadima, in a suspected robbery attack in the same LGA.
Confirming the incident to journalists, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, noted that the act was perpetrated by a group of six unknown armed men on February 25.
He disclosed that they broke into the victim’s house through the fence, at around 2:00 a.m. and robbed him of some amount of money before taking him to an unknown destination.
Abdullahi noted, “One person, Habibu Yakubu, was shot in the head by the assailants and later pronounced dead.”

He assured the community that efforts had been intensified to rescue the other victim unharmed and to apprehend the fleeing suspects.
Abdullahi said, “The police are working tirelessly to ensure the safe return of the kidnapped victim and to bring the perpetrators to justice.
“We urge anyone with information about the incident to come forward and assist the police in their investigation.”
