Carpenter in court for failing to deliver client’s furniture

Aminu Sani, a carpenter, was arraigned before the Magajin Gari Shari’a Court in Kaduna on Wednesday for breach of contract.

The complainant, Abdulrazak Haruna, told the court that he paid the defendant ₦200,000 in January to construct a bed set and wardrobe.

“He has been making empty promises. Every time I ask for my furniture, he keeps giving me excuses. I am tired and I want my money back”, he said.

Oh his part, the defendant said he won’t be able to refund the money but would make the furniture. He prayed to the court to give him one month’s grace to make the furniture.

The judge, Muhammad Kabir, ordered the defendant to finish and present the furniture in court on July 30.

He gave the defendant bail on the condition that he provides a reliable surety.
