Bandits kidnap couple, daughter in Katsina

A man, his wife, and their young daughter have been kidnapped by bandits in the Katsina metropolitan area. The incident, which occurred on Tuesday, was confirmed by the Katsina State Police Command.
Police spokesman, Deputy Superintendent of Police Abubakar Sadiq, identified the victims as Anas Ahmed, his wife Halimatu, and their daughter Jidda Anas.
He stated that the Commissioner of Police, Bello Shehu, has visited the scene and deployed additional resources to ensure the swift rescue of the family and the arrest of the perpetrators.

According to a police statement, the attack took place at approximately 3 a.m. at the family’s residence in the Filin Canada Quarters. “Also the hoodlums fatally shot one Abdullahi Muhammad, m, age 25, of the same address, a member of the local vigilante, and escaped the scene before the arrival of police operatives,” the statement read.
The police have begun an investigation to track down the criminals. The Commissioner of Police, accompanied by his management team, the Area Commander, and the head of the Anti-Kidnapping unit, conducted an on-the-spot assessment of the scene before deploying more personnel.
The statement concluded with a call for public assistance, urging anyone with information to contact the police.

“We further call on anyone with useful information to come forward and assist the ongoing investigation. All information given will be treated with the utmost confidentiality,” the police said.
