Story from Ibraheem El-Tafseer

Alhaji Abubakar Adamu Waziri, popularly known as Cargo, has constructed a 3-kilometer-long drainage system from Masaƙar Makafi to tashar Gawo in Potiskum, Yobe State.

The Masaƙar Makafi area had long suffered from the absence of a proper drainage system. Each time it rained, floodwaters would submerge the roads, making movement difficult for residents. However, Cargo has now built a high-quality concrete drainage system to ease the situation for the community.

Many residents of the area expressed their gratitude and appreciation during interviews with Neptune Prime, commending Abubakar Cargo for solving a longstanding problem that had affected their daily lives.

One resident, Ahmad Ibrahim, said “Before this drainage was built, we used to panic whenever the skies darkened and it looked like rain was coming. There was no proper channel for the water, so it would flood the entire street. We are very grateful to Engineer Abubakar Adamu Waziri, and we will definitely repay his kindness in 2027 elections.”

Abubakar Adamu Waziri (Cargo) contested for the House of Representatives seat representing Potiskum/Nangere under the PDP in the 2023 elections but was lost. He has since defected to the new coalition party ADC (African Democratic Congress) and is expected to contest for the same seat again in the 2027 elections.
