Police arrest 2 men for defiling minors

Police in Kebbi State have arrested two men in connection with two separate child defilement cases, reinforcing their commitment to a “zero-tolerance policy against child abuse, exploitation, and gender-based violence.”
Police spokesperson DSP Nafiu Abubakar confirmed the arrests in a statement. One suspect, Amos Jondo of Maliki Bedi village, Zuru Local Government Area, was apprehended for allegedly having “unlawful carnal knowledge” of a 10-year-old girl named Vina Shehu while she was running an errand for her mother.
In a separate incident, Mansuru Sani, 48, of the Goribbu area in Birnin Kebbi, was arrested for allegedly inserting his finger into the private parts of five-year-old Aisha Aminu Wala when she went to his shop to buy sweets.

According to a news source, detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Birnin Kebbi have concluded their investigations and have since arraigned both suspects in court.
CP Bello M. Sani, the Commissioner of Police, praised the State Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Barrister Junaidu Bello Marshall, for his prompt action in ensuring the “diligent prosecution of gender-based violence cases.”
CP Sani strongly condemned the incidents and reassured residents that the Command is determined to protect vulnerable members of society and “ensure justice is served.”

He also urged parents and guardians to closely monitor their children and report any cases of gender-based violence to the nearest police station.
