“Completely gone off the rails”, Erdogan blasts Netanyahu over Gaza conflict

According to a report by Anadolu Agency, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan reiterated Türkiye’s support for the Palestinian people and delivered a sharp rebuke of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government.

Speaking in a televised address to the nation from Ankara, Erdogan declared that Netanyahu’s government has “completely gone off the rails” in its handling of the Gaza conflict.

“In these troubling days when the Netanyahu government has completely gone off the rails, we stand with the oppressed people of Gaza with all the means at our disposal,” Erdogan stated. He added, “Türkiye will continue to defend justice, peace, and the rights of the Palestinian people.”

The Turkish leader has been a vocal critic of Israel’s military actions in Gaza, frequently accusing Netanyahu of war crimes and worsening the humanitarian crisis.

Erdoğan’s latest comments underscore Ankara’s long-standing position that a lasting peace in the Middle East requires a just resolution to the Palestinian issue. Türkiye has consistently advocated for an immediate ceasefire, increased humanitarian aid for Gaza, and a renewed push for a two-state solution.

In his address, Erdogan also highlighted domestic issues, specifically the progress of the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant. He said the plant, with a planned capacity of 4,800 megawatts, will “turn Türkiye’s luck around,” emphasizing its role in boosting energy independence and economic stability.
