President Tinubu leaves Abuja for 10-day annual leave in France, UK

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has left Abuja for Europe to begin his annual leave for 2025, the Presidency announced on Thursday.

According to a statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, the 10-day leave began on September 4.

The President is scheduled to spend his vacation split between France and the United Kingdom before returning to Nigeria. Although the trip is described as a working vacation, it will allow the President to rest while still attending to official duties as needed.

The Presidency did not specify if Tinubu would hold meetings with foreign leaders or business executives during his time abroad. However, past working vacations have often combined rest with official engagements.

Tinubu has had a busy 2025, overseeing a range of economic reforms, diplomatic activities, and domestic policy changes.

The leave is expected to offer him a break before he resumes his full official duties upon his return.
