Command warns schools against misuse of police, military uniforms

Story by Zara Ahmed

The Adamawa State Police Command has warned schools and individuals against the unauthorized use of police and military uniforms following the circulation of disturbing photos on social media.

The images showed students wearing police and military attire during a costume day celebration, behaving in ways that the command described as indecent and damaging to the reputation of security agencies.

This was contained in a statement signed by SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the olice Public Relations Officer on Friday.

According to the statement, the commissioner of police, CP Morris Dankombo, described the act as a criminal offence and has ordered a full-scale investigation to identify and hold those responsible accountable.

“The unauthorized use of police uniforms is a serious offence punishable by law. Such acts not only undermine the integrity of our security agencies but also mislead the public and will not be tolerated,” he said.

He reiterated the command’s position, urging schools, groups, and individuals to stop using security uniforms without permission.

“Anyone found engaging in this illegal practice will be decisively dealt with according to the law,” Nguroje warned.
