The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), on Saturday, held its 87th National Senate inaugural Sitting in Damaturu, Yobe state capital.

The event brought together student leaders and representatives across the nation to deliberate on crucial matters affecting Nigerian students and the education sector.

In his speech at the NANS Senate session, NANS President, Comrade Olushola Oladoja, said his administration remains steadfast in restoring dignity, credibility, and impact to the association.

He explained that the meaningful interventions have been student-centred, evidence-based, and transparent.

“The journey is far from over, but our direction is clear. We will continue to stand as the uncompromising voice of Nigerian students, defending their welfare and shaping the policies that determine their future,” said the NANS President.

On his part, the NANS Senate President, Sen. Usman Adamu Nagwaza, appreciated all the senators, stakeholders, and the entire Nigerian student community and citizenry for their remarkable presence, active participation, and unwavering moral support during the 87th NANS Inaugural Senate Sitting.

“Your presence was far more than a gesture of solidarity; it was a powerful affirmation of our shared resolve to nurture a stronger, more progressive, and more united students’ movement in Nigeria.

“Tribute to the invaluable support of our host community, the government and people of Yobe State under the visionary and steadfast leadership of Governor Mai Mala Buni and Yobe State University, our gracious venue host,” he added.
