Story by Sa’adatu MAINA, Damaturu

In a rare and joyous event, Ba’aba Habu, a resident of Zirki Zanzana area of Fika town, headquarters of Fika Local Government Area in Yobe State, and his wife Hajja Amina, welcomed quadruplets early Tuesday morning at the General Hospital Fika.

The quadruplets, two males and two females, were born at the General Hospital Fika due to the need for specialised care for the newborns. However, they will be referred to the Specialist Hospital Potiskum where they will be kept in an incubator for proper care and nursing.

Ba’aba Habu and Hajja Amina, the parents of the quadruplets, are financially handicapped to handle the mounting hospital bills.

The family is appealing to the Yobe State Government and other well-meaning individuals to assist the parents in caring for the quadruplets.

Community and government support would help the family care for the newborns and keep them alive.
