Leadership Shake-up: Dankaka fired hours after reappointment, Omidiran takes over FCC

Story by Susan Mbamah

In a surprising turn of events, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has removed Dr. Muheeba Dankaka from her position as Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC) just hours after her reappointment.

The President has named former lawmaker Ayo Hulayat Omidiran as her replacement.
The announcement, made in a statement by Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, marks a significant shake-up in the FCC’s leadership. According to the Presidency, Dankaka’s previous tenure was “dogged by controversy.”

Omidiran, a two-term member of the House of Representatives for the Ayedaade/Irewole/Isokan Federal Constituency of Osun State, will now lead the commission.
