Super Falcons star, Chiamaka Nnadozie, nominated for Ballon d’Or Best Goalkeeper award
Super Falcons’ shot-stopper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, has been nominated for the 2025 Women’s Yachine Trophy, the prestigious Ballon d’Or award for the best female goalkeeper.
The 24-year-old recently signed with Brighton Women FC after a remarkable season with Paris FC. Nnadozie played a crucial role in helping her former team win their first major title in nearly two decades. In the final of the 2025 Coupe de France Féminine, she delivered a heroic performance, as Paris FC defeated rivals Paris Saint-Germain 5-4 on penalties after a goalless draw.
Her excellent form also extended to the international stage, where she was instrumental in Nigeria’s success at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). The Super Falcons secured a record-extending 10th continental title against host nation, Morocco, with Nnadozie earning the Best Goalkeeper award and a spot in the Team of the Tournament for her standout displays.
Nnadozie joins a list of top goalkeepers nominated for the Yachine Trophy, including Ann-Katrin Berger (Gotham FC), Cata Coll (Barcelona Femeni), Hannah Hampton (Chelsea Women), and Daphne van Domselaar (Arsenal Women).
