A tragic incident in Ore, Ondo State, has claimed the lives of two teenage brothers who drowned in the Omileye River on Tuesday evening. The siblings were reportedly swept away by the river’s strong currents after a heavy downpour.
The boys, who have not been publicly identified, were on their way home after visiting their father’s mechanic workshop. A local resident, Jumoke, said the brothers had attended summer classes before stopping at their father’s shop.
They left for home after the rain subsided but were caught by the swollen river.
“It was a terrible day,” Jumoke said. “When their father returned home and didn’t see them, he became worried. A search party was immediately organised by the family and neighbours.
