KACRAN condemns killings in Plateau, calls for peace, justice, respect for law
The Kulen Allah Cattle Rearers Association of Nigeria (KACRAN) expresses deep sorrow and strongly condemns the recent brutal killings of innocent citizens by bandits in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.
As an organization committed to promoting peaceful coexistence between herders and farmers, and working to end insecurity in Nigeria’s North-West and North-Central regions, KACRAN categorically denounces these senseless acts of violence.
In a press release signed by its National President, Hon. Khalil Moh’d Bello, KACRAN described the attacks as particularly heartbreaking, taking place at a time when the nation is still mourning the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari and when President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Plateau State Governor Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, and the Executive Chairman of Riyom LGA, Hon. Sati Bature Shuwa, are making sincere efforts to restore lasting peace and stability across Plateau and the country at large.

KACRAN firmly maintains that there is no justification for any group or individual to take the law into their own hands by launching night-time assaults on communities and killing innocent people. The loss of innocent women and children in Riyom is an inexcusable atrocity that has no place in a diverse and culturally rich nation like Nigeria.
A Call for Peaceful Conduct and Legal Redress
KACRAN appeals to all perpetrators of violence, particularly bandits, to immediately halt attacks on rural communities and the destruction of property. The association urges them to seek lawful avenues for addressing grievances, rather than engaging in retaliatory violence against innocents uninvolved in any conflict.
Likewise, KACRAN calls on youths and local vigilante groups to desist from attacking innocent villagers, destroying homes, or killing livestock in the name of reprisal. Such actions only perpetuate a cycle of violence and often harm those who are themselves victims of broader insecurity.
All parties—bandits, youths, and volunteers—must exercise restraint and prioritize peaceful resolution over conflict. KACRAN strongly encourages reporting any disputes or security threats to relevant authorities, emphasizing that Nigeria remains a sovereign nation governed by law, not anarchy.

Respecting the rule of law will enhance the capacity of security agencies to maintain peace and protect lives and property across the country.
Commendation for Leadership and Security Agencies
KACRAN commends the Executive Chairman of Riyom LGA, Hon. Sati Bature Shuwa, for urging security forces to remain neutral and impartial in maintaining law and order. His leadership reflects a commitment to peace and unity among his people.
The association also praises Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, for his proactive leadership since taking office. Through security meetings, the formation of local security committees, and provision of logistics and financial support to operatives, the governor has demonstrated a genuine commitment to restoring Plateau’s image as a center of peace and tourism.
Furthermore, KACRAN expresses gratitude to the Nigerian Military and other security agencies for their tireless efforts in safeguarding national unity and stability. The association urges them to continue their patriotic work with renewed determination.
The Path to Lasting Peace
KACRAN firmly believes that sustainable peace in Plateau State and across Nigeria can only be achieved through dialogue, justice, inclusiveness, and respect for the rule of law. By fostering mutual understanding, fairness, and responsible leadership, the nation can overcome its security challenges and build a more united future.
