As life progresses, here’s a little food for thought, by Halima Bawa

I was watching a YouTube video of Dr
Olumide Emmanuel and it prompts me to ask: Can We Talk About Intentionality? We live in a time where everyone talks about goals, vision boards, and good intentions, but very few people practice intentionality.

Procrastination and intentionality are worlds apart

Procrastination feeds on comfort and excuses. Intentionality demands excuses. Intentionality demands discipline, courage, and daily decisions. There’s even a difference between intention and intentionality.

Intention is an idea, a desire, or a plan you hold in your mind.
Intentionality is the habit of living aligned with that plan consistently, even when motivation disappears.
Let’s pause and ask ourselves:
Do I have a strong WHY? Do I even have a why?
Why do I want to build wealth, freedom, or impact? Why do I wake up each day and do what I do?
Without a strong WHY, even the best intentions will crumble when life gets hard.

Riches vs Wealth

Here’s something I remind myself often:
Riches are cash-based. Wealth is an asset-
Based. Anyone can get “rich” for a moment – through a viral video, a sudden windfall, or even luck. But true wealth takes
intentionality, discipline, and investment.
It’s built brick by brick, asset by asset, lesson by lesson.
“A thousand good intentions can’t touch one action.”
DAMN! Deep that.
Discipline, Ethics, and Investment: The Winning Combo

Discipline is doing what must be done, even when you don’t feel like it. Ethics is doing what is right, even when nobody is watching.

Investment is putting your money, time, and energy into things that grow – assets, skills, relationships, and yourself. Together, they build trust, attract opportunities, and create lasting value. Without them, money comes and goes – but real wealth never stays.

Wisdom: Young and Old

I believe we need the vision, energy, and hunger of the young and the experience, patience, and tested wisdom of the old.
When we combine both, we win.
Calm Down. Breathe. Invest.
Wealth creation is not a get-rich-quick scheme. It’s a journey with seasons of sowing, waiting, and reaping.
Stay consistent. Be patient with yourself.
Keep moving. Invest today, and let’s talk in the next 20years.

Become Needed

When someone is loaded with skills, solutions, wisdom, and value, they will always be needed. So, become a problem solver. The world pays problem solvers.

Let’s Be Intentional

As you read this, I hope you pause to reflect. What’s my WHY?
Am I living with intentionality or just
good intentions?
What am I investing in today that will bless my future self?
This week, choose intentionality. Choose a discipline. Choose ethics. Invest today, and let’s talk in 20 years. Your future self will be proud.
If this resonates, share it with someone who needs this reminder today. Let’s grow together.
