Kashim Musa Tumsah’s water project receives commendations from Geidam residents

Story by Kasim Isa MUHAMMAD

The residents, especially youth of Borko District in Geidam Local Government Area of Yobe State have expressed appreciation to Oil and Gas lawyer, Kashim Musa Tumsah, for his timely intervention in tackling the longstanding water scarcity that has plagued their communities.

Neptune Prime gathered that the rehabilitation of six concrete water wells across the Futchimiram, Borko Zurkuduk, and Dejina Fukurti wards has brought much-needed relief to residents, who had long endured the daily struggle of accessing clean drinking water.

In an official letter on 28th April 2025, signed by representatives of the Borko District Youth in Politics and endorsed by community leaders, the group stated: “For generations, our people have endured unimaginable hardship due to water shortages. Through His Excellency’s compassionate intervention, Allah has wiped away our tears and restored dignity to our communities.”

The heartfelt message also included prayers for divine blessings upon Tumsah and the community’s collective desire to one day reciprocate his kindness.

Local leaders have reported dramatic improvements in daily life following the completion of the project.

Malam Ibrahim Geidam, the village head of Borko Zurkuduk, remarked:
“Our women and children previously spent hours each day searching for water, often resorting to contaminated sources that exposed them to disease. Now, with rehabilitated wells within our communities, we are witnessing better health and more productive households.”

Similarly, Hajiya Fatima Usman, a mother of five stresses that, “This is more than just water; it is freedom from suffering, and it is hope for our children’s future.”

Neptune Prime reported that while Kashim Musa Tumsah has not publicly commented on the project, his longstanding reputation for philanthropic work across Yobe State’s rural communities continues to speak volumes.

Meanwhile, development experts highlight that such water interventions are paramount, particularly in arid regions like Geidam, where access to clean water directly improves health outcomes, boosts educational attainment, and strengthens economic productivity.
